When you’re going to purchase or sell any jewelry you’re going to need to learn a lot about it so you know what to do. You may be uncertain where to start.

Do not use harsh chemicals such as ammonia, bleach, turpentine or acetone to clean them. These chemicals can wreak havoc on your jewelry, from discoloring bands, to dulling stones, to eroding enamel or glue.

Make sure to store your jewelry away from humidity and air. A jewelry box or drawstring bag out of a humid area is ideal. All metals will tarnish if they are subjected to too much air and humidity. Precious metal jewelry can be polished to fix tarnish, but non-precious metals coated with a finish will never get back to their previous state.
